Best items to pack in your Disney Stroller

stoller

You’re going to Walt Disney World! Yay! I’m so excited for you! If I could physically help you pack and then escort you around the park, I would in a second! The odds of that are pretty slim so instead I’ll just give you my tips on taking and packing your stroller in the most efficient way possible. I was a Walt Disney World Cast Member for 13 years so efficiency is deeply engrained over here. Lucky you! I’m going to help you answer  all your Disney stroller questions so you can have a great trip to Walt Disney World!

First Things First

Should you take your own stroller to Walt Disney World? OR, should you rent a stroller once you get there? For me, this comes down to the age of your children and their ability to walk around or be carried in the airport. The first time I took my son to Disney he was 10 months old, not walking yet and too heavy to carry on my hip for the several hours we were waiting in line to check bags, go through security and get on the plane.

With all of these things in mind, I took my own stroller because it was easier than carrying him around the airport. Now, my son is almost three and can walk/run with the best of them. With that in mind, I’d rather rent a stroller when I get to Orlando so I have one less thing to transport. Yes, you can rent strollers at the parks but I prefer to use a 3rd party vendor like KINGDOM STROLLERS or BABY QUIP. They’ll deliver right to your hotel and will be much more comfortable for your little ones. Side note-Baby Quip has everything from car seats to pack and plays to high chairs as well.

Next! What do you need to pack in your stroller?

1: APPLE AIR TAG

You’re going to be leaving your stroller unattended ALOT. Every time you go into a table service restaurant or onto a ride and for some meet and greet locations. Is it unlikely that someone will grab your stroller on accident or even on purpose? Sure. Does it happen? Yes. Side note-PLEASE DON’T LEAVE YOUR VALUABLES, IDENTIFICATION, OR CELL PHONES IN YOUR STROLLER UNATTENDED. Again, is it unlikely that someone horrible is walking around the happiest place on earth? Sure. Does it happen? Yes.

2: SOMETHING TO MAKE YOUR STROLLER IDENTIFIABLE

You’re probably thinking…why do I need this if I have an apple air tag? Your air tag will help if your stroller is lost but lets take one more step in making sure someone doesn’t mistake your stroller for theirs and vice versa. I prefer a big ribbon with an identifiable print (my stroller still has a large Christmas ribbon on it from 2 years ago) and or these covers for your handlebar

I used both on my last trip and it was so easy to find my stroller. Some people will tell you to get glow necklaces or a balloon but let me tell ya, that balloon is going to get real annoying and those glow necklaces aren’t going to help you in the middle of the day or even at night because 2,000 other people will be doing the same thing.

3: YOUR OWN WATER BOTTLES AND SNACKS

If you like spending your entire budget on bottled water, by all means, skip this one. Otherwise, quick service locations will give you cups of water that you can fill your own bottle with. And yes, you can take your own food in! Disney snacks are the yummiest but you’re going to want reinforcements when your child is asking for a snack while waiting in line or sitting on the bus or monorail.

4: INDIVIDUAL SNACK BAGS/THERMOS

Speaking of yummy Disney snacks, imagine this…you’ve just spent way too much money on a pretzel because it’s shaped like Mickey Mouse and your toddler takes two bites and decides they’re done (insert gasp here). Put the rest in a a reusable snack bag or small ziplock bag and give it to them later. No need to waste food or money mama. The same goes for chicken nuggets, bacon from breakfast or a small burger. I toss all of those in a thermos and give them to my little guy when he’s ready. I have this one in several colors.

5: BAGS FOR EVERYTHING

Learn from my mistakes people. Once upon a time, I tossed 6 water bottles, a pack a wipes, a ton of snacks and some toys all in the bottom of my stroller. Then, I got to the Disney bus to take me to Magic Kingdom where I was promptly told that I had to fold up my stroller before getting on the bus. I’m so annoyed just typing this.

The next day, I put everything into a few separate bags. Later, when I did have to fold up my stroller, it was much easier to grab three bags rather than 20 small items. I carried my diaper bag with me that had an extra set of clothes, a few snacks, a small thing of wipes and a few diapers. You and I both know that’s not enough to get you through a 10-12 hour day at Disney so all the extras went in the stroller.

I packed three bags containing the following…

  1. Diapers, wipes and a change of clothes
  2. Water and snacks
  3. Toys/things to keep kids occupied in lines

As with all of my posts, these are just one mamas/former Cast Members opinions. These are the things that work for me and that I would recommend to my family and friends.
